Committed to the art of painting, Cox employs the intensity of observation and minimalism to bring out the poetic essence of everyday objects. Each work evokes tranquility through northern light, shadow and a sophisticated palette. Cox's use of color and sensual composition create an intimacy reminiscent of Morandi's graceful oil paintings of the 1940s. Colleen began her formal training in Chicago at the Art Institute and continued her studies with renowned American artist, Leonard Anderson at Brooklyn College. Since 1992 Colleen has been included in over 50 group and solo exhibitions in the Untied States.
